UM-D was established to provide quality education to residents, business, and industry in metro Detroit.

The campus has 12 major buildings including the Mardigian Library and the Engineering Laboratory building, serving over 7,000 students, 13,000 alumni, nearly 300 research, professional, and clerical staff members.

The school emphasizes practical, hands-on training. On both the graduate and undergraduate levels, research by faculty and students help serve the needs of the business community.

Henry Ford Community College - Governed by the Dearborn Board of Education, Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) serves nearly 16,000 full- and part-time students on three campuses, with programs from art to robotics. Fifty-eight associate degree and certification programs qualify students for entry-level jobs or allow them to complete the first two years of a liberal arts or pre-professional program.

HFCC's on-site associate degree classes and skill upgrade training courses now are available to businesses. Businesses can take advantage of classes that can be taught to employees on the job site. Once the kind of training is determined, HFCC also can assist businesses in applying for state funding that can reduce the cost of this training.

HFCC's unique guarantee program promises to refund tuition to any graduate for any course passed with at least a "C" if course credit does not transfer to a college or university within two years of graduation. HFCC also will provide up to 16 semester credit hours of skill training to any graduate of an occupational studies program whose employer is not satisfied with his or her entry-level technical skills.

Detroit College of Business - A private, co-educational college located in Dearborn, Michigan offers associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and an MBA program. Detroit College of Business has a career-oriented approach to education. With its highly respected faculty and small class setting, DCB serves its nearly 3,000 students well.
